What is the Detroit Dream Project?

The Detroit Dream Project’s “Temple of the American Dream” was built by volunteers in the Brightmoor / Old Redford neighborhood of Detroit in June 2008. The Grand Opening was held June 21st including a wedding, a tip toe parade, music and fire performance. It was a wonderful night, the first of many to come — won’t you join us for more?

NEXT EVENT is World Hoop Day on 8/8/08 from 4:00 — 8:00 PM come out and get hooping with the community:

Now, the Detroit Dream Project belongs to all of us.

Together we will shape how this new artistic pavillion at Peace Park is used, how it grows, and how it becomes part of making Detroit the place we dream about and build together.

Come out to the Temple and make it yours! It’s free and open. Come for a picnic. Organize a poetry reading. Follow in Gregg & Angela’s footsteps and get married here. Or simply stop in for a bit of inspiration and reflection!

You can find the Temple in northwest Detroit just off Grand River and Lahser roads next door to Motor City Blight Buster’s Resource Center at 17405 Lahser Rd., Detroit, Michigan 48219 stop by anytime!
